Have tried making an appointment for the last 3 days. No one answers and no return phone calls. After reading the reviews I’m glad I didn’t waste any more of my time.

I wish Google allowed 0-star reviews. My PCP referred me to Dr. Mahatma for a second opinion regarding a medical issue I have been dealing with for several years. While I was taken back fairly quickly after arriving, the appointment itself was extremely disappointing. The doctor initially spent a few minutes listening to my concerns, but the conversation quickly shifted away from my medical issue. Instead, he spent much of the visit discussing what I can and cannot eat, asking about the best places to get biryani in Irving, and joking about how much I must miss Indian food such as masala dosa and samosas. He even repeated those jokes to his nurse practitioner. Rather than thoroughly discussing my symptoms, history, or treatment options, he prescribed a stronger medication and told me to try some samples for a few weeks before he would send in a prescription. I left feeling that he had not taken the time to fully understand my concerns. When he reviewed a standard handout and I explained that I was already following all of the recommended lifestyle modifications without improvement, he had no meaningful response and simply left the room. He later returned with medication samples, but after I got home, I discovered that the samples were already expired. To make matters worse, the office's online patient portal appears to be unreliable and rarely works. Overall, I sought a second opinion hoping for a thoughtful evaluation of a long-standing medical issue. Instead, I felt dismissed, unheard, and left with more frustration than answers.

Was sent for labs without any paperwork and was told that my name would be in the system. And they would be able to pull it up and take care of me. When I took off a half a day to go to get my labs, I was not in their system.I called the doctor's office. Doctor's office swears that they uploaded it a week.Prior when I was at my appointment. but when I was at the lab the next day, they showed me on their computer where the doctor's office had only updated it.The day before. but then nobody had told me I was supposed to fast before. These labs were done.So I had to come back another day to do it again. then, my lab work was not going to be in before my follow up appointment. So I called to reschedule my follow up for a time after they would get my lab results. They didn't want to reschedule me telling me, just come on in anyway.. I said, I don't want to pay you for an appointment.Just to hear quoteI can't tell you anything until I get your lab results in which was the whole reason for the follow up was to read back to me.My lab results and tell me what they think. To which I was told, well, we don't charge for the follow up.Anyway. I told her it wasn't the point.I don't want to take off another half day of work to be told nothing. So I rescheduled it for a time after the lab results would be in. Fast forward to the day of my appointment.I had another doctor's appointment prior that ran over.I called to let them know.I might possibly be late no more than ten minutes or so.They said, okay, mind you? This call came forty minutes before my appointment time, when I showed up, they charged me for the follow up.When they had told me they weren't going to then.Had me sit in the waiting room for well over an hour.I had ended up being five minutes late to my appointment. Then, I called forty minutes in advance and told them I might be late. They left me sitting in the waiting room for about an hour. Before I went up and asked them, how far behind schedule are they? The answer I got was, there's four more people in front of you before we'll be able to even clear out an exam room. so I asked the lady, does that mean there's going to be at least another hour before i'm seen.So it'll be two hours after my appointment time. Before I even get taken to the back. She agreed it would be about two hours after my appointment time i told her I can't stay here that long.I need her to refund my money and she can reschedule me for an appointment if they can tell me they can get me in closer to my approximate appointment time. She scheduled my next appointment for over two weeks.Away from today, didn't say thank you.Didn't say sorry about the delay.Didn't say we wasted your day.Just stared at me blankly. So I told her, ma'am, that's okay. You don't have to apologize for wasting my time today again.I was met with a blank stare. I will be finding a new doctor I refuse to give my money to someone who has a sign at their desk saying they will charge if you miss your appointment time and you'll have to reschedule while they're okay.Wasting my time and taking money out of my pocket. And not letting me make money to feed my family while I sit in their waiting room with no respect for anybody else.At all this is a common problem.I believe in the medical profession they feel that their time is more valuable then the people that they are treating. until we as patients stop allowing this kind of disrespect, it will keep happening.

had swallowing issue more than 4 years, spent about first 3 years with Dr Mohatma, at first he did GI endoscopy and severall followup office visits with no improvement, only my symptoms getting worse, and he would not give me proper explanation of my illness nor a clear treatment plan, such that I finally was no able to eat or drink anything, very bad situation. then decided to switch Doctor which was able to help me and now able to eat and drink.

I have been Dr. Mahatma's patient for many years since my former Dr. Safavi left to move to CA. Both doctors have prevented me from dying from colon cancer. I had pre-cancerous polyps removed since 30 years old. Otherwise, I would have already died from colon cancer long before the recommended age at age 50!

Dr. Mahatma and everyone at Medical City Las Colinas took excellent care of me during my procedure.

Since 21st March 2025, I am trying to take an appointment for my mother-in-law with this office. They are always closed it seems. Never pick up the phone and never respond to the voice mails. Finally one fine day I happen to talk to them and they made an excuse that she need a referral from her primary care for this appointment. My mother-in-law had HMO plan and there is no such requirement for referral. Finally primary care provided the referral and sent it to their office on 18th Apr 2025. Once again i keep on trying their phone number. Never pick up the phone and never respond to the voice mails. My husband send an email to them on 24th Apr 2025 with referral and insurance card details also. No response to email also. Finally we escalated this to Baylor Scott and white and they reached out to this office. Then we talked to the most arrogant and rude person "Shannon" out here at around 9:00 am Central time. This time also she made an excuse that referral is not there. We told her referral # and the date. Referral had CPT codes and other details but this lady full of ego simply wanted to not have the appointment, told that it is not having the details. I gave to my husband, who is already seeing this doctor and he told her that please be nice and don't come in between doctor and patient after she was once again making one after another excuse. We want to make sure that Dr. Mahendra Mahatma clearly outline to rest of the world that either he is retired or no more interested in seeing new patients. As it's very evident that this kind of office staff and person like Shannon clearly reflects that they have an office for name sake and no active practice. This lady Shannon is nothing but a black spot on this practice, who's only job is to make sure that no patient can see the doctor.
