During my hospital stay at Medical City Dallas, I ultimately had to leave and seek care elsewhere due to the experience I had with Dr. Sreenarasimhaiah (who they call Dr. Sree). Ask yourself what kind of treatment it takes to feel so dismissed and disrespected by a medical professional that your parents have to pack up your belongings and take you straight to another hospital ER... all while you are ill and in severe pain. I presented with severe abdominal and pelvic pain and have a history of severe Crohn’s disease with multiple complications and surgeries. A CT scan a week prior showed multiple signs of active inflammation, fluid in the small bowel, mucosal enhancement, esophageal wall thickening, and thickening of the gastric antrum. The CT at Medical City Dallas about a week later showed “nothing significant.” Rather than investigating the discrepancies between the scans, Dr. Sree suggested my inflammation and abnormalities may have healed within that week (with no treatment and worsening of symptoms)... comical. Other medical professionals told me that was extremely unlikely. While he was friendly during our initial conversations, his lackadaisical attitude left me feeling blindsided. With a history of nearly losing my life because my illness was overlooked, I had panic attacks after he left my room. A young woman in severe pain and dealing with chronic illness is allowed to feel emotional. He also did not spend adequate time reviewing my history or asking questions. Had he done so, he would have known panic attacks are not something I typically experience. The comments he left in my chart made me feel unsafe in his care. Despite my documented severe illness, he wrote: “She is very tearful/emotional, not sure if the anxiety is her problem or if flareup of Crohns is causing her pain. She is asking for repeat colonoscopy and EGD. If not better in next few days, we can consider.” I was stunned to read that my severe pain was being attributed to anxiety despite severe complex history and recent imaging showing evidence of active disease. This was escalated and multiple staff members were disturbed as well. During our follow-up conversation which my family member witnessed, he interrupted me while I was explaining that I felt dismissed—to insist that he was not dismissive. Consider the sheer irony of interrupting a patient, several times at that, to argue that you are not dismissive. He was condescending, continuously smirking for whatever reason, and admitted I was “not easy to figure out" as if that is my problem. Years of medical school and residency should not only prepare you to treat "easy" patients. At that point, I no longer trusted him to perform an invasive procedure. He implied he was doing me a favor by still being willing to perform my scopes (without directly saying so). When I requested another GI physician, I was told there wasn’t one. I had no choice but to leave and seek care elsewhere. Almost two weeks later, I am still ill and in pain, experiencing the same symptoms and rapidly losing weight. However, the GI physician at the next hospital treated me with respect and promptly arranged outpatient testing, scopes, and specialist follow-up so I could finally move forward with answers. Thanks to them I have hope, but Dr. Sree played no role in that. This degree of medical misogyny and writing off symptoms as anxiety is unacceptable. Dr. Sree made one of the worst times of my life even worse. Doctors are supposed to do no harm. I would not recommend Dr. Sree or Medical City Dallas.

Dr. Shree is great. He is very attentive, listens well to patients, discusses options, and is very nice and cordial during the appointment. His office and hospital bed-side manners are the best. I highly recommend Dr. Shree to anyone with a digestive issue.

I can’t say I enjoy going to Dr Shree but he is so nice and gives such a high level of service. I’m so happy I found him for my medical needs. He goes way beyond the required level to help. I really appreciate him.
