Dr Jefferson Hurly, I’ve know since 2010. I started having complications again, went to other medical teams but returned yrs later to TCR the family to me. ❤️❤️

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr Rinkin Patel and this GI practice and would not recommend it, especially if you have a complex gastrointestinal condition. The biggest issue was the complete lack of empathy and compassion. I never felt like my concerns were truly heard. Appointments felt rushed, explanations were very high-level, and when I asked about different treatment options, very little time was spent discussing the pros, cons, or reasoning behind recommendations. For someone dealing with a complicated medical condition, that's simply not acceptable. The office also changed my appointments multiple times because of the doctor's scheduling conflicts, making it difficult to plan around work and other commitments. Rather than feeling like a patient receiving personalized care, I felt like just another appointment on the schedule. My overall impression was that the doctor came across as dismissive, arrogant, and uninterested in answering questions. If you have a straightforward issue or simply need a routine colonoscopy, your experience may be different. However, if you have a more complicated GI condition and need a physician who takes the time to listen, explain, and work collaboratively with you, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. My experience also highlighted what feels like the increasing corporatization of healthcare. The practice gave me the impression that efficiency and volume mattered more than individualized patient care. It often felt more like a business focused on moving patients through the system than a medical practice focused on helping people navigate difficult health conditions. When you're dealing with a chronic illness, you need a doctor who treats you as a person—not just another number. One additional frustration is the GI Alliance network model. Once you're established within the practice, switching to another physician isn't always easy. I wish I had understood that beforehand because finding a better fit within the same network can be more difficult than expected. Healthcare is about more than technical knowledge—it's about communication, empathy, respect, and partnering with patients to make informed decisions. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I left feeling frustrated, unheard, and disappointed. I would encourage anyone with a complicated GI condition to carefully consider their options before choosing this practice.
