Darren brenner is a dangerous person who shouldn’t be near patients. He’s dismissive unreliable, with garbage bedside manner. He loses his cool on my chart, and in person. He is unwilling to collaborate with other providers on patients care. He picks and chooses who he will see. He can’t even solve a simple gastro issue- let alone anything complex. If you enjoy being spoken down to, and treated like crap then he’s the doctor for you. Manager was a total waste of time and just as dismissive as Darren Brenner himself. There are no Consequences for reckless northwestern doctors who receive special treatment based on family connections.

I had a terrible experience with Northwestern Medicine Digestive Health for an outpatient procedure. Communication beforehand did not provide enough information for me to make fully informed decisions about my care, which led to a very upsetting experience during the procedure. I would strongly recommend considering other providers and facilities.

If you are considering Northwestern for bariatric surgery, I greatly encourage you to look elsewhere. The surgeon spent maybe 5 minutes total with me throughout the entire year long process, the PA in the hospital tried to give me a medication with a potentially deadly interaction to an already prescribed medication, and the dietician did not respond to messages during the pre-op diet. The only support they offer you is joining a Facebook page. Every bit of success I had was me having to turn to internet forums for advice because the providers at Northwestern were incredibly unhelpful. The only reason I'm not leaving one star is because I made it out of the operation alive, at a minimum.

I called to gastroenterology, with an issue and the person I spoke to was Robin, she is Northwestern service, not the Dr. Office. She handled EVERYTHING, so I can get days off my job for the procedure . She was in touch with the Dr. office, so I did not have too.

What can I say Dr. Stephen Chang saved to my life If I had a bouquet of roses, I would’ve given it to him however, I hope he enjoyed the sweet treat. I brought him yesterday.! Thank you so much you guys are blessed to have him and his expertise ! Yess!! Very happy and am now an advocate for colon cancer! Happy 2025!

Iv been going to northwestern for EOE treatment for 6 years now. Iv had two doctors that were both amazing. NW is an amazing institution, I owe them thousands of dollars from procedures I couldn’t afford and they let you pay it back over time with no interest! NW also did my mother’s hysterectomy. We don’t go anywhere else as we feel like we are getting the gold standard of care.

Excellent experience today. Check in was smooth. Dr. Lee and his team are cordial professionals. 10/10.

World class care. Stephen Hanauer is elite.

By far the worst experience of my life. Wait times are ridiculous, and unnecessary. No diagnosis, minimal testing then was refused further care. Go somewhere else. Northwestern digestive clinic is nothing more than a bunch of doctor/manager egos unwilling to help.

Going for a colonoscopy isn’t exactly something one looks forward to but I have to say this is the place you want to be. I had a seamless experience the entire time I was there and was in and out and on my way to eat everything in walking distance in no time! The woman who checked me in was efficient and put me at ease. The nurses that assisted were delightful and my physician was so patient and kind and explained everything she found in detail. I can’t thank everyone enough, thanks for taking great care of me and getting me back to my life as scheduled in no time!
