I had an excellent experience with this gastroenterologist. I really appreciated that he suggested natural remedies alongside standard treatments, showing that he cares about a holistic approach to health. His gentle and patient manner made me feel comfortable and respected throughout the visit. I left feeling informed, supported, and confident in the plan moving forward. Highly recommend!

Dr Rosenthal is an excellent dr very professional and super nice i would recommend him to any one Just don't deal with Kelly one of his office secretaries She's super nasty with an attitude refusing to Schadual me next day even Dr Rosenthal confirmed with my primary MD that i have a next day appointment Also she refused to give me my pathology reports even i said clearly i need all reports to be printed Giving me hard time that i showed up to receive my reports even they told me they don't mail it to home

Excellent service from start to finish.

My daughter was an established patient of Lawrence Rosenthal. When she became very ill—unable to eat, losing weight dangerously fast, and unable to endure the approximate four-hour wait at St. Barnabas’ emergency room—we thought seeking his help would be the logical and compassionate choice. Unfortunately, we were wrong. The response we received was nothing short of dismissive. The front desk staff refused to let us see the doctor, repeating, “The doctor is not an urgent care doctor!” over and over again, both in person and later on the phone to me and my husband. There was no empathy, no attempt to understand the situation, and certainly no effort to help a patient in need. It was clear that the doctor, and this practice as a whole, views patients as mere appointments on a calendar, not as people in need of care. My daughter didn’t require a lengthy evaluation or extensive tests—she just needed a simple prescription for anti-nausea medication, something any compassionate primary care physician would have provided without hesitation. Instead, we were met with cold indifference. It was as if showing up without an appointment was an unforgivable offense, no matter how dire the circumstances. The lack of humanity and flexibility in this practice is deeply disappointing. The doctor acts more like a king, then a physician. Remember, god forbid you have the audacity and gall to show up in his office without an appointment. If you’re looking for a healthcare provider who prioritizes patient care and compassion, this is not the place. This experience made it painfully clear that this practice is more focused on rigid policies and profits than on helping their patients.

I dealt with Dr. Rosenthal for a period of 4 years. Overall, a nice doctor but very reluctant and/or clueless as how to treat any serious issues, which should be concerning for anyone that puts their trust (and life for that matter) in the hands of a specialist. In my recent bout with elevated enzymes, again, he was at a loss as to "why" and just suggested getting routine bloodwork over the next several months to monitor any changes. I ended up getting a second opinion and the approach has been night and day. Suffice to say I won't be returning to his practice.
