I had a deeply concerning and invalidating experience with this provider during an inpatient GI consult. Despite documenting conclusions about my symptoms and care plan, she never came to see me or examine me in person. Clinical judgments were made remotely, including implications that my reported symptoms were not credible, without any bedside evaluation. I have a documented diagnosis of a condition outside of her scope of practice and am actively managed by multiple treating physicians. Despite this, my diagnosis was repeatedly characterized in the chart as “unclear,” which is factually incorrect and was done without consultation with my established care team. This misrepresentation has real implications for patient safety and informed consent. Alternative diagnoses already under evaluation were dismissed without addressing contradictory findings or engaging meaningfully with my symptom pattern. Concerns about procedural risk were reframed as anxiety rather than legitimate medical considerations given my comorbidities. The overall tone and documentation reflected a bias toward patients with chronic, multi-system illness, where complexity was met with skepticism rather than curiosity and established diagnoses were treated as questionable by default. This approach contributes to diagnostic anchoring, inaccurate charting, and erosion of patient trust that led to the need to involve patient advocacy. Patients with complex chronic conditions deserve direct evaluation, accurate documentation, and respectful listening. None of these standards were met in this encounter.

I first saw Dr. Hsieh when she was practicing with care point in April 2024. She recommended that I have a colonoscopy done, and that I have bloodwork, as well as a MRE done beforehand. She never gave me a prescription for the bloodwork or MRE. I had to call her office to have a prescription sent to the lab for the bloodwork. On the day of my colonoscopy her office told me that I should arrive at 7:30am. When I arrived the hospital staff told me that Dr. Hsieh or someone at her office made an error and had all of her patients come at 7:30am, but that she wouldn’t arrive until noon. If you have ever had a colonoscopy done you know how uncomfortable it is, and to wait for five hours at the hospital for her to arrive was excruciating. When she finally did arrive she never apologized for being late but proceeded to tell me that she was annoyed with me for not having the MRE done, despite the fact that she never gave me a prescription for it. I made sure to get one at the hospital after the colonoscopy so that I could get the MRE done. When I saw her this month in June for the follow-up she had moved to RJW Barnabas. During the follow-up she told me that she didn’t know how anything in her new office worked, and asked me to remind her what the results of my colonoscopy were, and the MRE (despite the fact that I sent her those results beforehand). She then said that she was going to send a prescription to my pharmacy but never did. When I called the office to ask that it be sent again the receptionist told me I would have to wait a week until Dr. Hsieh was in the office to send it again. All of this is to say, I found another GI and would never recommend Dr. Hsieh to anyone.

Best GI around, she saved my life. If it wasn't for her caring tenacious nature I wouldn't be here today. As a physician there is no one better. She is honest and forthcoming with her thoughts and ideas. I thank everyday she is my doctor
