I had a telephone visit with the PA Mrs. Cook and team at GI Alliance, and the experience went great. Everyone was supportive, professional, and attentive throughout the follow-up process. I really appreciated how clearly they communicated and how comfortable they made the appointment feel. Thank you to the entire team at Lincoln Park location for the excellent care and support during my visits.

Dr is fine don’t like that I’m made to see PA especially because I had a really good doctor that left and wasn’t aware. Had a procedure done where she laughed when I was uncomfortable. Scheduling is laughable, they planned a follow-up appointment WITH an appointment card and it showed up in my patient portal but when I called for more info, the appointment didn’t exist.

My experience with Dr. Gluskin was great! He was very kind and I didn’t feel rushed at all. The secretary was also very friendly & helpful! I highly recommend this practice.

tldr; Dr. Patel is highly competent, and this practice may be worth it for specialized but not time-sensitive care, but, as many other reviews say, it is impossible to reach anyone for time-sensitive questions before and after procedures. I was referred to Dr. Patel by my GP for an unusual set of GI-related symptoms, and got an appointment fairly quickly. Dr. Patel listened carefully and, as luck would have it, he was an expert on the condition they indicated. So far, so excellent. Along the way, I had occasion to message Dr. Patel through the portal and he called back within a few hours. Again, great. Unrelated to that condition, I scheduled and then easily rescheduled a routine diagnostic colonoscopy. A week out, I had a question regarding taking a certain medication leading up to the procedure, texted their automated system, and received a reply within 10-15 minutes. Very impressive. Unfortunately, starting the day before the procedure, communication fell apart. The morning before preparation was supposed to begin, I received instructions from the medicine company which contradicted the instructions I received from the office. I left a text message at 11AM, and heard nothing for hours and hours. I needed an answer before beginning preparation the next morning, and grew increasingly desperate but could reach no one by text or by phone. I even drove to their office following the hours on Google Maps, but those are wrong and it was closed. I received one communication at 5:18PM that my question had been forwarded to a nurse. I responded asking when I could expect to hear back, and received an automated message that the service was closed until the following business day. Now truly desperate, I called again after hours, where I was connected with a service which paged Dr. Patel, and I received a call back within 20 minutes. It should not have taken an emergency after hours call to get a response to a time-sensitive question asked early on the day during business hours. Following the colonoscopy, I had a similar experience under more distressing conditions. Unlike what I had been told to expect, I continued to experience diarrhea and nausea after the procedure. I texted asking if I could take an anti-diarrheal and for other medical advice, and received a generic response that my question has been forwarded. I asked when I could expect to hear a reply, given that I was in medical distress, and was told that it could take up to 24 business hours. I responded that I was acutely ill after a procedure and needed to speak to someone sooner, and received no reply at all. Ultimately I had to resolve my issue by searching on Reddit, which is not how I want to resolve medical problems when I supposedly have a doctor. I do not know which factors have led to this practice having such poor communication protocols (cost-cutting? profit-seeking overbooking? something else?), but it is unacceptable that time-sensitive questions are treated cavalierly. Sadly, for routine GI procedures that might involve time-sensitive communication, I will be forced to look elsewhere, and recommend others do the same.
