My Husband has been following Dt Cabaleiro since last yr and I have to say she and her practice are horrible. He’s been sick and unable to eat or keep since February we called the office for an appointment. We received one for May 4th in between February and May he has gotten worse. We’ve been to the ER for help but he still needs to see his GI doctor. We waited patiently. May 4th comes and then today the day of our appointment her office calls telling us he will have to be rescheduled to July. He has no medication and needs to be placed on meds so he can eat. The woman at the desk states she cannot do anything to help us. This is very unsettling given that we both work in Healthcare we both work for one of the hospitals she works at. We’re not expecting special treatment we just expecting basic care. Basic care you signed up for when you took an oath to become a doctor. Dr Cabaleiro and her team over books and then the patients suffer. They do not care what is going on with you and if you’re getting worse they just say oh well wait another 3 months. Now being on the other side of healthcare shows me why many patients fall through the cracks why many people die. They decline because their healthcare providers the people who should help them over extend themselves and then push the patients to the side. This is unacceptable very unacceptable. Now we have to find another appointment with another doctor so he can have more than just half a bottle of ensure for the whole day. I wish she had refused us as a patient because she does not have the time to care for all her patients she is one person who has taken on entirely too much and unfortunately her patients suffer.

Dr. Cabaleiro is the best doctor for GI guys don't read the 1 star and 2 star make appointment and go see her she's very professional. Thank you Dr. Cabaleiro.

I made an appointment with her in June 2025. I couldn't see her until November 20 2025. On November 19, her office called to say they canceled my appointment because she does not take my insurance, mind you, I gave my insurance information in June when I made the appointment. I could have seen someone else in all the time I waited to see her. I know this is not her fault, but she needs to get better help.

Great diagnostitian, empathetic, treats the mind, and the body. For 8 months my sister in law has been suffering with a severe, life threatening GI disorder. After four other "BIG" GI specials, 4 additional GPs ,at their witts end, she decided to seek my advice. I know the best of the best I told my brother and sister in law. Dr. Cabaleiro met her and spent time reviewing her records, listening, and doing a physical exam. My sister in law said that was the most comprehensive phuysical exam she has had so far. The mental feeling of comfort was only trumped by the amazing physical reflief she felt three days later with two new prescriptions that are alleviating her GI problems. This is now two weeks in, and she is getting back to her wonderful self more and more every day Thank you so much Dr. Cabaleiro

I don’t think persons in the office respects time - we are not all retirees who wants to socialize - an hour later after my appointment and I am still waiting and no apologies. I do like Dr. Cabaleiro but I cannot come back to see her - if you get an appointment for 1pm if you show up at 3pm you will still be early 😂

Dr. Cabaleiro canceled my appointment 3 times. The lady that called kept mentioning my insurance. I don't know if this is the reason but don't accept an insurance if you going to treat the patient rudely.

TERRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER! Extremely short responses. This doctor did not even look at me while I signed my mom’s consent form for a feeding tube procedure. No sense of compassion or empathy. Screaming at her assistants over my mom’s body about not being able to work with monitors behind her back. I asked why she had so many people in the room for a 10 minute procedure and she stated they were assistants. I don’t know if there’s a shortage of gastroenterologist in the metro area of New Jersey but Beth Israel needs to replace her immediately. I will be reporting her to the medical board as well.

She never followed up with me on my pathology finds and refused to talk with me when I reached out to her at her office. Horrible treatment and follow up.
