Best woman GI in town. Cares about her patients, knowledgeable and good endoscopist!

Often 45min+ late (each of 3 meetings this was the case) and goes on about non-sensical topics during the visit. Charged very high prices and didn't provide me with any treatment plan for moving forward. Also cancelled on me and failed to reschedule until I followed up twice to reschedule.

Dr. Hierro first became my gastroenterologist 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with colon cancer. She helped me deal with side effects of chemo and radiation, which had worsened my IBS, more effectively than anyone had been able to, dspite having an excellent cancer doctor team at St John's. She cared about all the different problems I was experiencing, and her extensive experience and intelligence enabled her to come up with effective treatments and medications nobody else had ever mentioned. I am a very detail oriented person who does lots of research on my own medical issues, and I have to say she reviewed everything in my records and was always completely prepared for each consultation. I recently had a terrible IBS flare up that landed me in the ER. it involved extensive testing including CAT scans and ultrasounds, and when I met with her the next week, she was completely prepared for our visit. I am so grateful She has returned to practice in Santa Monica because the other two G.I. doctors I tried did not review my records and only wanted to do invasive testing, but she was willing to work with me until my symptoms calm down and I feel better. She makes me feel safe because I know she considers all the options and will discuss them with me thoroughly. Quite a brilliant and compassionate woman.
