I have tried calling them over ten times, no one will call me back. I have left message after message, I have had my other medical providers contact the office, I even left a message with their late night phone service and was assured someone will call me back and no one ever called. I also got random bills for the next 6 months and text that said I owed a certain amount but when I asked for an itemized bill it was impossible to get one, because no one would answer. I was very much left in the dark from this doctor. Also all the responses on Google review to bad reviews are AI generated and don't address the problem.

I reached out to the office today. It had been six years since being treated by Dr. Samuel Castillo Jr., Sr. and his staff. They continue to be the same wonderful caring, thoughtful and compassionate medical professionals that I met back then after all of this time. My questions were answered and I felt as if I was important. Not just a number.

I’m f I could provide 0 stars, I would! I had a 4:40pm appt for which they asked me to arrive at 4:20pm, I was waiting until 6:22pm without being seen!! I sat in a room just waiting! The excuse is that he’s is only at that office once a week. So he schedules 50 patients or more in one day and has 2-4 hour wait times for an office visit? Ridiculous and a disgusting way of practicing!

Dr Castillo was on the team of doctors helping me when I had 2 abdominal surgeries back to back, and he was great. But I'm supposed to follow up with him after 3 weeks in the hospital, and the office will not answer the phone or return my calls. Consultation before my colonoscopy with main nurse and staff was really stressful.

Horrible experience. I truly believe I would’ve died if this man waited any longer to transfer me to UChicago Medicine to experts who know what they’re doing. Dude couldn’t look past himself and was more concerned about his ego taking a hit. His bedside manner is horrendous and multiple nurses confided in me saying, “that’s just how he is.” He even said himself that he’s not good at having patience. Which is absurd. He yelled at me for questioning him when I told him the medicine was ramping up the inflammation and it turns out he had me on way too high of a steroid dose. I had to get an EKG done because my heart was that worked up from the way he spoke to me. Do not recommend. I’ve been told by many other doctors that he should be reported. Save your life and go to someone else.
