Paige PA-C is very good at her job. She took the time to explain my previous bloodwork results and how they affected the symptoms that I was experiencing. She made medical terms easy for me to understand and is a good listener. I left the office feeling reassured and less anxious. I never leave Google reviews for doctor offices.

The office staff I had to interact with that handle billing and scheduling appointments are incredibly passive aggressive and wildly unprofessional. They also use a 3rd party phone answering system (both times it sounded like I was speaking to someone in India), so you can’t even call the office if you want to schedule an appointment or talk to anyone within the office about billing questions. They also never returned a single one of my phone calls, they would only email me, so all of the poor interactions I have are via email (which is awful bedside manners for any doctor’s office). All of this said, I can’t in good faith recommend this business to anyone. Dr. Albert himself was lovely to deal with, but nothing can make up for the lack of professionalism his office staff conduct themselves with. I asked for an itemized bill 3 times after their patient portal would not work for me, I patiently and politely explained 3 times that I couldn’t access my bill through the patient portal because my credentials wouldn’t work. Their office staff finally responded to me that they believed I was “just too busy to try clicking a link” after my 3rd response about having issues accessing the patient portal and explaining that me credentials would not work. This is in addition to the nightmare of trying to schedule a follow up appointment with the office staff and the insanely passive aggressive emails and responses I received during that process of simply trying to schedule a follow up appointment. Steer clear of this place at all costs. There are too many doctor offices with office staff who treat patients with the baseline level of respect we expect to be treated with, and this is not one of those offices. I’ve also included photos that (1) show the first email I sent June 1st to the office politely explaining how the patient portal wouldn’t allow me to access my bill and (2) show their unprofessional response suggesting I’m a liar who was “too busy” to click a link. I had also sent other follow up emails between my email and their eventual response that asked for help accessing the itemized bill, all of which were disregarded by Chicago Gastro until they decided an unprofessional and passive aggressive email was warranted. Edit: the business responded and tried to argue that they use a 3rd party for their billing and that those people aren’t “their office staff”, but the emails I received had Chicago Gastro plastered on their email (see the image I included). If a “3rd party” is representing your company and using your logo in email communications (and using your businesses email address), they are indeed a representative of your company and thus they are your staff. The business’ response is yet another example of it skirting accountability.

Dr. Albert was super gracious. The team was excellent, worked together, made me feel supported and comforted during my first colonoscopy.

I rarely write reviews. And I never write bad ones. But I feel compelled to do so here. The medical care I was provided (one appointment were we settled on a procedure) was really good. When it comes to admnistration and billing, my experience was mediocre to bad. I had to ask over, and over, and over again for an itemized invoice. No one seems to ever answer the phone at the billing department, where emails, also, are not answered. My insurance situation is complex for sure, because I am covered by an international insurance. And since in the beginning I was unclear of how the process works, it got convoluted. In general, staff were fast to write back when it came to solving this, which was great. But I was told they could reach no one via phone at my insurance company (which has an operation in the US), although they tried several times. That struck me as odd. Never have I not reached them (and I tried myself during this time). My procedure ended up being cancelled. I looked elsewhere. My new provider tried my insurance once via phone. Suceeded and got coverage guaranteed within a day or so. All of this makes it hard for me to believe that staff at Chicago Gastro really tried, I am sorry to say.

Need a good doctor, second option or a place where you can be heard as the patient? THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE. I came here for a second opinion after a year of being on meds and still having complications and bleeding. I saw Dr. Stiner first and he took the time to really get down to the bottom of that my needs and goals are and get my colonoscopy scheduled within days. Then I had a colonoscopy with Dr. Albert and he was amazing in the hospital, supper thorough and friendly. I would highly recommend this office and staff. GI issues can be very scary and it felt great to be heard and now really taking care of my problems the right way! Thank you doctors

Do not go to this GI office. I continue to have billing issues at this location and this is NOT the first time. I paid via Zelle and now I continue to receive a bill for the amount I paid well over a month ago. The billing company they use unfortunately sends out emails using improper English, making it very hard to understand what they are saying. I've now sent my bank statement and proof of my Zelle transaction multiple times and the issue still has not been resolved. I've copied in the chicago gastro office on multiple emails for assistance and not one person from the office has step in to assist or even replied. The office is small, the client tables are old and falling apart. The torn material on the tables will scratch your legs. They also keep some private items laying around that should be in cabinets, like used lube tubes. We know they may be needed for some but no client needs to see that laying around. My overall experience here has been terrible and will be looking for a different GI office.

I will forever be grateful for Dr.Albert at Chicago Gastro LLC. I recently went to Dr. Albert for a “non urgent” new patient appointment to discuss general GI issues. My current GI doctor’s office was giving me the run around to schedule …
