I called the front desk to ask if they were IN NETWORK with my insurance, blue cross blue shield of Michigan BEFORE I made the appointment, and they said they were. So I made an appointment. Dr. Fleischmann saw me for a consultation. Then, I saw on my insurance's website (when I logged in) that the claim was denied so I called the front desk, and the rude person who picked up aggressively told me that it's patient responsibility to make sure they are in network, and she couldn't even tell me if I was in network, when I was previously told that they were. That is a HUGE RED FLAG. It shows that not only are they unapologetically uneducated, but are shamelessly aggressive about it as well. The front desk is responsible for telling me if they're in network. Her response was ABSOLUTELY and REPREHENSIBLY SHOCKING. So I called billing and they told me that they were in network with Anthem Blue Cross. So I guess the front desk is careless and uninformed, but I will not be responsible for a bill due to the lack of consideration and education of the front desk. I will be filing numerous complaints. Also, they didn't even bother to change the address or their new name on their Yelp page even though they moved from Fountain Valley to Huntington Beach. I will never come back to this office again and I should have never made an appointment. What a disorganized and careless office this is. I will be filing complaints today with the No Surprise Help Desk as well as the appropriate state regulatory agencies. I will NOT tolerate this.

I definitely appreciate and value Dr. Steinhauser’s knowledge, expertise, and professionalism. She is very cordial, actively listens to understand her patient’s needs/issues, and provides knowledgeable answers and solutions in a way that’s very easy to understand.

I was very happy with my doctor. She was very helpful and provided a lot of information to me that i needed to know

I called these guys because their counter office that I had initially done my testing through, does not answer their phone and hasn’t for the last 4+ months. I called to get my test results and they said that they cannot help me with it at the moment because they have other patients and it will take too long. No regard of empathy for the fact that I’ve been trying to get these results for months. Called them a couple weeks later and was told now that it doesn’t seem urgent I’ll have to go through the initial branch (the one that doesn’t answer) it’s gotten so bad I’ve actually considered legal council. This whole franchise is an absolute disgrace. Do not go to any United gastroenterology clinics. They are so unprofessional in every way imaginable. Unhelpful, dismissive and rude. Find another stand alone specialist for this. You will spend 5 months chasing down your own results

The doctor is great but the receptionist and her manager totally misunderstood our communication trying to explain an identifican issue. (They made a negative assumption and tried not to even listen)
