My two tiny sons caught a horrific rash at the same time stemming from HFM. We went to two urgent cares, and one other hospital in the area that were all negligent (and subtly racist tbh) before coming to UCLA and they were the ones that took the severity of their rashes seriously. It is exhausting advocating for your children and not being heard, and trying to help your kids ease their suffering. The UCLA Children’s Hospital staff has my heart now, because they were the angels that soothed their suffering. We waited in triage for a very long time, as the system seems to be undergoing some changes and there are obvious delays due to volume of patients -but were eventually admitted. As soon as we were, we were swarmed with the right people, and felt cared for. Finally, some relief after a few DAYS of trying to find doctors that cared. We stayed three nights to get to the bottom of their rashes, multiple tests. The staff from pediatric doctors, each nurse (god bless you guys who administered their medicine and did the repetitive care), and infectious diseases specialists were seriously so amazing. I had one instance with a night staff from their optometry crew that did not respect boundaries, but overall, I left with clarity for my sons and a game plan on how to care for their skin with common communal illnesses. Something I had to fight for. Now I will only be coming here if there’s ever another emergency or obscure infection with my sons. I’m so thankful for the care we experienced here. Truly!!!

Terrible... This is America? Idc How crowded it is .. theres so many nurses out there why are hospitals so big to have have everyone sitting outside under a tent like we are in the war again? I went to the ER for my toddler around 1 am... They made us sit outside u til 4 am And then had us waiting inside for another 1+ hour. This is how they treat children under 2? Shocking WEIRD AND ODD.... why arent babies especially having allergic reactions and swollen lymph nodes prioritized. I hate whats happening here.. I guess this is free health care looks like. these people dont do crap unless for dead already or close to it. Scary times. Im sitting here watching Dr not do shit....in front of me while we have been waiting. I bet they brought us inside out of embarrassment of having a baby outside waiting

My daughter is currently admitted in there pediatrics unit and we had items of value stolen out of our private room we spoke with the charge nurse. She said that it’s our fault for leaving our personal belongings out in our room as she wasn’t going to do anything about the situation. We are concerned for our daughter’s safety. Because we shouldn’t have staff with these kind of intentions around our children or if it wasn’t the staff. worse the fact that they let strangers enter our children’s rooms. The charge nurse name was Jill.

The security guard on duty on November 14th, 2025, at around 3:20 AM treated me in a dehumanizing way. I had no issue leaving the waiting area as instructed, but he hovered over me while I gathered my belongings in a way that felt intrusive and intimidating. When I tried to express my concern, he cut me off, dismissed me, and shut down my attempt to speak. No person should be treated this way. There is a professional, respectful way to carry out protocol without escalating or traumatizing guests. This has caused significant emotional distress, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

They were the only one willing to help us get Aby home back in 2023 when other facilities denied her a right heart cath. Dr. Alejo put her on pulmonary hypertension meds after and ensured we got home to be with family. Each time shes gotten sick and needed intervention they would intubate and give her all the best. Nurses also are caring and empathetic. She just got 3 surgeries for general maintenance and surgery ent were amazing! PICU IS REALLY AMAZING AND I can see they genuinely care for my daughter and other kids. The head PICU Dr. Shooenshackle might be butchering his name is so knowledgeable, receptive,

Very busy I came here with my 2 young sons 5 and 8 both laughing and 1 having trouble breathing and waited almost an hour seen 5 people called before my kids that came in after us. I walked up and asked and they said they can not tell me why and to continue to wait but was also very rude about it. I went to this hospital because of the better reviews over the others in area I’m from out of state. The check in staff was rude. They do not prioritize children or anyone.

Garbage ER experience. If you don’t want to feel like you matter, come here.
