Dr. Mary Kwaan was incredibly unprofessional and somewhat unknowledgeable for current treatment of fistulas. She gave me incredibly grim treatment options, which she said would likely render me with organ dysfunction because of the position of my internal issue, and said she "would be nervous to go up there." This comes with a low % of success, and necessary to use a seton for 2 months. I left disappointed and scared, so I made an appointment with the chief of the Pfleger Institute, Dr. Kazanjian. I had previously asked her to look at my Mri results, but upon learning that I had a 2nd opinion appointment, she said she wouldn't want to "waste the radiologist's time by asking for the report." Because of her rude behavior, I decided to take my medical business elsewhere, and I am SO glad! I went to Dr. Allen Kamrava Colon & Rectal Surgeon, where he recommended the Hanley procedure. NO SETON, NO Cutting seton, no organ dysfunction and totally saved my innards! After listening to bad advice from UCLA, fearing the worst, hearing the worst, I took on Dr. Kamrava & I healed in less than 1 month with COMPLETE organ healing and no fistula! And guess what ! Dr. Kwaan and I are different colors folks, and I refuse to blame racial identity for the problem!
