Very disappointing experience with the Pediatric GI office at Weill Cornell Pediatrics. My son had a scheduled appointment with Dr. Thomas M. Ciecierega on June 9, 2026 at 9:00 AM. We were running late, so I called the office in advance to notify them and was told it would not be a problem. Based on that confirmation, I brought my son to the office. However, when we arrived, we were refused to be seen and told the appointment would need to be rescheduled. This was very upsetting, especially because my son is a child with special needs and medical appointments require significant preparation, coordination, and flexibility. If the office could not accommodate us, they should have clearly told me that during the phone call before we came in. I am also concerned that this situation raises ADA/Section 504 reasonable modification concerns. The office applied its late-arrival policy without considering the circumstances after we had already called ahead and were told we could still come. The communication and handling of this situation were very poor and created unnecessary stress for my child and me. I hope the office reviews patient handling process, and disability accommodation procedures, especially for pediatric patients with disabilities or special needs.

​We had an absolutely wonderful experience with this pediatric GI doctor. From the moment we walked in, he was incredibly patient, helpful, and completely understanding of our concerns. Going to a specialist can be stressful for kids, but he is naturally gifted with children and made my child feel entirely at ease. He also took the time to explain everything thoroughly and clearly, making sure we understood every detail rather than rushing through the appointment. I highly recommend him to any parent looking for a caring, attentive, and knowledgeable doctor!

While the appointment started on time and the resident was professional and kind, the experience went downhill once the doctor entered. He immediately stated my daughter’s case was "too complex" and claimed this hospital was the wrong facility for motility issues. He performed a very perfunctory exam and was dismissive of our concerns, even telling me to "just breathe" while my daughter was in tears. We left feeling hopeless and unheard. I would not recommend this provider for complex cases.

Dr. Thomas Ciecieraga has been exceptional in caring for my son. He took the time to listen carefully, review the details of his case, and explain everything in a clear and thoughtful way. As a parent, it means a lot to feel that your child’s concerns are truly being taken seriously, and Dr. Ciecieraga did exactly that. He is knowledgeable, attentive, and compassionate, and we felt very comfortable with his approach. We are grateful for his guidance and the care he provided. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Ciecieraga to other families looking for a thoughtful and thorough gastroenterologist.

Fantastic, amazing, wonderful! Connected to my teen son instantly, which is 1/2 the battle. Highly, highly recommend. Thank you Dr. Ciecierega your bedside manner and words of encouragement to my son meant more than you will ever know!

He is amazing he took his time with my child when it came to checking him. His main priority is to make sure the patient is comfortable and helps them understand what’s wrong he is the best and always kept me informed on what’s going on with my child..

Great doctor very understanding and personable. He connected with my boy in a spontaneous and friendly way. Highly recommend him
