I'm not sure about the Intuitive Eating Center... The cost of the appointments is appalling, and on top of that, my counselor said I could email her with my questions and such. At first she was great. Then she would take over a week to respond, and this happened twice in a row. So I cancelled my appointment and researched other ways to help myself. I found this book Called Anti-Diet by Christy Harrison and it has been very very helpful and has changed my life.

Kristen is awesome! It was really hard to find and RD that understands intuitive eating and is local to the Cleveland area. If you are in recovery from diet culture and want to find a way to have a positive relationship with food and your body, Kristen is a great fit!

I would not recommend the Intuitive Eating Center unless their nutritionists accept your insurance. I tried to just use one of their counselers for a little over a month and it was like pulling teeth to get her to focus on my issues around eating. On the last session she pushed me to have an anxiety attack during the session because she would not stop hyper focusing on my "unwillingness to make my anxiety my responsibility." When I asked her to recommend a nutritionist that takes my insurance (IE of Ohio does not) she told me that I wouldn't be able to work successfully with a nutritionist until I get my anxiety under control. I feel like the entire experience, while good in theory, was a huge waste of my time. Not only did it make me feel way worse about myself at a time that I was already struggling due to stuff going on in my life, it actually pushed me to start eating even more out of control because I felt confused about what I should be doing. I consulted my PCP and made an appointment with a registered dietitian for next week. I do not know if Intuitive Eating works or is right for me because my counseler at IE of Ohio never worked with me on it.

Kristen is down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and super compassionate. If you dread working with a dietician, this is the one to work with.
