Incredible doctor. In my pre surgery he thoughtfully explained everything that was going to happen. I ask a lot of questions and he did not rush me whatsoever. He spent around 15-20 minutes explaining the procedure and answering all of my questions. He is only 1 of 2 Doctors in the hospital that can do internal surgery and my procedure and boy was he worth the wait. Just over 2 weeks ago I had a CT scan through the emergency room because I was having some symptoms and couldn’t get in to see and MD doctors only PA’s. My primary ordered some blood test and some of my liver enzymes were extremely high so he sent me to the ER to get immediate testing. The CT scan diagnosis came back as Stage 2/3 Pancreatic Cancer which was devastating. They said that Indy Gastro would be calling me back next week to schedule my next procedure. I was called promptly the next day and told there were only 2 Doctors that could do the procedures that I needed and their schedules were full for the next 8 days and DR NAS could get me in for the 60 minute procedure on the 9th day. I took that time slot and spent the next 4 days calling all over town for another doctor to do the procedure that I needed quicker and learned that at any other hospital the wait was much longer and it would take a week just to get my referral transferred over between the 2 offices and then a few more weeks to get it scheduled, so I was looking at close to a Month. Well was I lucky that I stayed with DR NAS. He did what I consider at least 2-3 procedures/Surgeries at one time. He did an internal surgery I didn’t even know were possible. The following is what he did for me in about a 45 minute procedure. 1- The took an Ultrasound camera down into my stomach and right next to where my stomach and Pancreas were beside each other,he went through the lining of my stomach and took a biopsy sample of the tumor that was saved. 2-After that he took the ultrasound camera to see what was involved to remove the tumor on my Pancreas and involved blood supply veins to see if they might be carrying the tumor cells elsewhere and effect removal, liver, and gall bladder. 3-My 3cm tumor (the size of a large marble) was also pressing and closing of the flow of my Bile Ducts between my pancreas and my Liver Causing me to have SEVERE full body itching if I didn’t take medicate for it every 8 hours. I also had extreme nausea from my liver not working correctly that prevented me from eating much at all for 3-4 weeks until this was diagnosed causing me to loose 25 lbs in 4 weeks and become very sick. 4-To solve that problem he somehow also put a stint inside my bile duct that is now holding it open so the Tumor cannot press it closed and make me incredibly sick all the time where I couldn’t eat with forcing myself to eat. All foods would make me sick all day. I am now at home writing you this the same day as Dr NAS procedure without an overnight stay in the hospital without any of the itching, nausea and sickness and lack of sleep that I have been dealing with for 4 weeks,and have had my first full meal dinner and will now get full night sleep and rest to gain strength to continue to fight this tumor from spreading. He did ALL of these procedures without 1 incision through my skin all internal surgery. INCREDIBLE MEDICAL ABILITIES. I have read other reviews and they don’t do him justice about what this man can do inside your body without unnecessary surgery. We are now going to involve oncology to use chemotherapy to reduce the size of my tumor so the oncology surgeons have a better chance of removing all of the tumor and its roots (that can grow back if not removed). I am just at the start of this battle with this Tumor but DR NAS has gotten me off to a good fighting start.
