After over fifty years of searching, I’ve finally found an incredible doctor—Dr. Shine at Shine Health and Wellness. My very first appointment with her lasted over an hour, which was such a refreshing change from the typical rushed 15-minute visits I was used to. Dr. Shine truly understands women and women’s health. She welcomed my questions with patience and care, and she made sure I fully understood the answers. I’ve now been with Shine for about three months, and I can honestly say they are consistently there for me. A special thank you to the lovely Kim at the front office! She always goes above and beyond—whether it’s helping with scheduling, sending me the links I need, or just being a kind and helpful presence. Her willingness to go the extra mile does not go unnoticed, and it means so much. I’ve already recommended Shine to friends and family, and they’re just as happy with the care they’ve received. I’m so grateful to have found this team—thank you for making me feel seen, heard, and supported.

Please note Dr. Kimberley Shine is not a Primary Care physician but a Functional Medicine doctor. Is not taking any new patients. Functional Medicine sounds like there are monthly fees as well as paying insurance and co pays, like a subscription. Calls are not returned, but responses are texted to you.

I'm conflicted on stars to give on Shine Health and Wellness.YOU SEE 5 STARS, BUT PLEASE CONSIDER THE 2 YELP REVIEW PAGES FOR HER PRACTICE. Dr. Shine is absolutely amazing! She has a HUGE part to play in my healing journey.When I started being a patient in her practice in May 2020 everything ran amazing. She had awesome nurses and office staff. She genuinely cared and very thorough. When she started her Functional Medicine Program August 2023. I joined it, because she was amazing and I absolutely loved her. She was worth it to me. I didn't question it once. The fee is $150/month in addition to them billing your insurance for certain things. Though they say it is NOT a "concierge fee", let's be honest of what it is. They just have fancy name for it. Just quick definition: A "concierge fee" in the context of healthcare refers to the annual/monthly membership charged by some doctors for providing more personalized and accessible care.... Concierge medicine aims to provide a higher level of care and personalized attention, which can be appealing to patients who feel they are not receiving adequate care in a traditional setting. (I'd research other doctor's offices who are asking a "concierge fee" and see all the benefits they give their patients.) SO, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? The operations CURRENTLY has gone down hill. Man, what a DRASTIC DIFFERENCE!!! When I signed up for this program Dr.Shine communicated to me that I would see her every month. The PROOF of this is in my charts from when she started the program in August 2023 till December 2024, there is an appointment every month with Dr. Shine, except January 2023. Kimberly Weber tells me , " I apologize for any miscommunication when you signed up." That's a little scary that Dr.Shine's staff is saying that she miscommunicated about her own program? Is there a disconnect between front and back office? If you decide to pay the $150/month, something to take into consideration , is how often you are seeing Dr. Shine. This was NEVER communicated to me till today. Kimberly Weber says, "This fee is to pay for all the additional time, effort and resources that are involved in functional medicine that can not be billed to insurance. Every patient is different, as such WE CAN NOT PROMISE YOU HOW OFTEN YOU WILL SEE THE PROVIDER. It could be multiple times per month ( per Dr.Shine's request tried, but she is always booked), IT COULD BE ONCE EVERY 3 MONTHS. It will depend on your specific needs. I know it can be confusing." I'll tell you what's confusing. When they started calling me this December /January beginning to cancel/reschedule about 90% of my appointments till June and still have the expectation for me to pay the $150/month. What "additional time, effort and resources" am I paying for if you're constantly rescheduling my appointments? I'm not even seeing her for the month. What's concerning, are the appointments affect my hormones. Then, I mention I'm part of the Functional Program and ask them what are the benefits of paying this additional $150/month again if all my appointments are being canceled/rescheduled? They reply with, "We don't really know...", probably because they have a bit of turnover of staff. Lastly, trying to call their office phone I feel it is nearly impossible. They say on the message "72 hours they will return your call", but I will let you know I have left messages and no one has called me back. I've even messaged in their elation portal that has taken a week before. I did reach out to Dr.Shine to share about all my concerns on the elation portal, probably quickest response I've ever received, but from Kimberly Weber. I've yet to receive a call. They messaged me back on my grievance, but didn't call me back to reschedule or apologize. IF YOU MOVE FORWARD WITH THEIR $150/MONTH. Just know: 1. Its the Only Way to see Dr.Shine 2. 72 HOURS CALL BACK - PROGRAM OR NOT 3. They CAN NOT PROMISE YOU HOW OFTEN YOU WILL SEE DR.SHINE 4. REALLY ASK QUESTIONS and KNOW ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF WHAT YOU ARE GETTING BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THEIR PROGRAM

Dr. Shine is an incredible doctor! I have been a patient of hers for almost 10 years and besides being an expert about integrative medicine, she is kind, and caring. And her staff is just as good! Truthfully, she is one of the best doctors I've ever had and that's saying a lot as I am 74 and feel so confident in her care to get me to a healthy 85 and beyond.

I have been under Dr Shine's care for only two months yet my life has been transformed already. I am a 62 year-old woman with the soul and mindset of a 12 year-old, but my body and mind didn't seem able to keep up--the fearsome "brain fog" and can't-get-off-the-couch-I-just-want-to-drink-wine-after-work tiredness had been slowly creeping into my life and I thought I was doomed (even after having tried numerous supplements and working with an endocrine specialist on my thyroid). My fortunes shifted when a dear friend of mine, who was radiating with health and good vibes, introduced me to Dr Shine and her team of wunderkund staff. From my first consultation with Dr Shine I realized what had been missing from my other experiences with doctors--I felt listened to for the first time: Dr Shine wasn't just intested in my physical ailments but my mental balance too; this is just common sense, that the body and mind affect and work with each other, but I've never had one doctor and one practice be able to address all facets of my well being. This is the difference between Dr Shine's "integrative" medical practice versus the conventional medicine approach. Of course, as the patient, you also have to be willing to do the work--for example, to get all the lab tests performed so Dr Shine can diagnose underlying conditions, and to be willing to communicate needs and goals so Dr Shine can steer you in the right direction. Towards this end, her staff has established an online portal so patients can communicate with Dr Shine and staff in a timely manner. Dr Shine's staff are phenomenal--poised, professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and ACCESSIBLE. There is always someone available to help schedule appointments or recommend treatments. The office is beautiful too--great lighting, pleasant decor, and the staff are always "color-coordinated" for the day (like "Pink Tuesday" and "Purple Thursday", where they all wear the same color scrubs). This tells you there is incredible team work that goes into satisfying Dr Shine's patients. There are still so many treatments that Dr Shine's practice offers that I haven't been able to try yet and look forward to doing so if my body and mind need them! I am so excited about my journey with Dr Shine's practice, and my own life journey. With her hormone treatment therapy, I fall asleep effortlessly (a minor miracle in itself!) and now wake up, feeling energized about the day rather than wanting to stay in bed. I still enjoy drinking wine after work and watching Netflix, but now it's one option among many others now available to me because my energy has increased.
