I had to review and express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the recent experience visitng Dr. Sunil Reddy, following a referral from HCA Conroe's Emergency Room. This situation involves not only a lapse in professional medical care but also a concerning lack of compassion for a patient in evident, ongoing pain. After visiting HCA’s ER due to severe and persistent abdominal pain. Imaging and assessments revealed inflammation in the intestines. Being discharged with a temporary prescription was instructed to follow up with a GI specialist. With a new insurance plan, attempting to comply with that guidance an appointment with Dr. Reddy was made, despite learning beforehand that the appointment would require an out-of-pocket $200 copay, which was paid in full. Unfortunately, the appointment with Dr. Reddy proved to be not only unhelpful but disheartening. Dr. Reddy reviewed the paperwork from the ER but did not request to see or evaluate the imaging reports, nor did he conduct a physical exam with meaningful follow-up questions. Instead, he simply reiterated what was already stated in the ER discharge paperwork: “Just use the Omeprazole.” Essentially gas medicine. When pressed for further evaluation, given the continuing severity of pain and the lack of long-term clarity from the ER visit, Dr. Reddy remarked, “I could do a scope, but that will cost you thousands of dollars. I’m trying to save you money" by saying just fill the prescription. This response is deeply troubling. A specialist’s role is to investigate the cause, not simply echo a temporary ER prescription. Moreover, this statement prioritizes billing over well-being and implies that a patient’s financial status should dictate whether or not they receive diagnostic care. Leaving that appointment in the same pain, with no answers, no examination of the imaging that HCA already performed, no new insight, and no plan of care—just a reiteration of what he already knew was disheartening. This experience reflects a disturbing lack of empathy and professionalism. It is unacceptable that a patient in clear distress, having followed all the appropriate steps, would be treated as a case file instead of a person. Dr. Reddy’s dismissive approach undermines the integrity of the care HCA and affiliated providers are expected to uphold. A formal complaint will indeed be filed.

I had an wonderful experience with staff and Dr. Reddy. They were very professional, and answered all of my questions. However, I didn't know what to expect because it was my first time as a new patient. I highly recommend Dr. Reddy and staff.

My husband was severely sick. His symptoms were consistent with ulcers, or something causing pain directly following ingestion. (Liquids and foods). He lost over 50 pounds. Was put on like 5-6 prescription medications, given multiple tests and a scope. This doctor found nothing. We switch to a different doctor for a second opinion. Within a week of that appointment my husband started feeling better. He was taken off every single prescription besides one for stomach cramping. He was put on pre-biotic, pro biotic, fiber, etc. He was told to drink specific protein shakes. His weight is staying steady now. He also got diagnosed through his laparoscopy with this new doctor. Was put on medication, and is feeling so much better. New doctor said that if he would have waited 4-6 more weeks, he would have had a bleed. That’s how severe his case was. Go to center for digestive disease. Not this doctor.

I saw the doctor today and I must say I had a very good visit. He was caring informational and very helpful. He listened to me and went over information that a previous care giver did not. I’m so glad I was referred to him. The staff was friendly and great throughout my entire process from the time I walked in throughout and when I left. Very professional.

This was my second visit with Dr. Reddy for a routine colonoscopy. Having a positive experience with Dr. Reddy ten years ago, I decided to again have him perform my exam. Dr. Reddy and his office staff were attentive and professional. Dr. Reddy reviewed my surgery history, medications list and asked many good questions. Dr. Reddy has a direct and pointed demeanor. He was generally interested in my health. The procedure went well. I appreciate the level of professional care provided by Dr. Reddy and his office staff.
