Dr. Rahbar was convinced I needed to go on nystatin for my “chronic fungal infection”. I explained to him that I’d had thrush that was resistant to nystatin in the past and didn’t think this was a good idea. He convinced me this was the correct plan. A few days after starting the nystatin I had thrush covering my entire tongue. He claimed this was a herxheimer reaction which makes no sense because it immediately started to get better when I went on the strongest antifungal (posaconazole). I had to stay on the posaconazole for two months to be safe and it caused all my hair to fall out. I also got so horribly ill when I started the nystatin and my stomach has never been the same. I’m sooo much worse than before I saw him. I wish I never did.

Dr. Rahbar, Andrea and the team have been taking care of me for over 6 years. Dr. Rahbar is the only gastroenterologist that fixed me 3 times. I'm now getting prepared to go to him the 4th time because unfortunately Los Angeles has an issue with water damaged buildings. It's actually pretty remarkable because my case was extremely complicated and at the end of the day it stemmed from mold and VOC exposure coupled with improper dieting, leading to bacterial overgrowth, SIBO, inflammation, etc. Dr. Rahbar is the only doctor that I've seen that takes all specialized test and then custom-tailors the treatment plan. Since he did this for me 3 times, the plan was different every single time, as the things that were causing my GI issues were different. Thank you Dr. Rahbar, Andrea, Ken and April for taking such great care of me for so many years! For anyone trying to research of who to see for your GI issues, please don't think twice and just book the appointment with him. Cheers!

I’m so glad I found Dr. Rahbar. He’s like a real-life medical detective, combining a thoughtful, big-picture integrative approach with the kind of scientific depth you’d expect from a traditional physician. It’s rare to find someone who truly does both so well. Before I found him, I spent eight miserable months dealing with stomach issues— losing weight and hope, stuck at home searching for answers and getting more discouraged by the day. Within just two weeks of starting Dr. Rahbar’s treatment plan, I felt a noticeable difference. I don’t use the word “miracle” lightly, but it sure felt like one. If you’re dealing with a complicated health issue and starting to feel like you’ve run out of options, Dr. Rahbar might be exactly who you need.

I am impressed with Dr. Rahbar’s expertise, passion, persistence, and resourcefulness. He has other GI fungal patients where standard treatments are not effective or cause intolerable side effects as in my case. He’s a full MD Gastroenterologist and can take a biopsy and send it to a research friend that will culture and see what it is vulnerable to. He doesn’t jump to conclusions and is very methodical, and careful not to escalate treatment if it isn’t necessary. He takes his time during appointments to get to know you and involve you in treatment plan decisions. Dr. Rhabar is the fifth doctor I’m seeing for toxic mold health issues. My local Sutter Health group PCP and GI specialist could not figure out what was wrong with my GI symptoms. After a year, it was a local chiropractic integrative care office who were the ones that finally ordered a urine test to diagnose toxic mold. After this I moved to toxic mold / chronic fatigue specialist Dr. Lysander Jim who was extremely helpful up until I started to have trouble with standard treatment medicines for my GI fungal infection and he referred me to Dr. Rahbar.

Dr. Rahbar is a fantastic doctor. I had seen quite a few other gastro GI doctors who were, frankly, not helpful at all and almost dismissive before reaching out to Dr. Rahbar. I came to him after having wiped my GI microbiota from taking oral antibiotics and am currently suffering from SIBO / SIFO where I experience bloating, gassiness, headaches, nausea, combined with insomnia due to my discomfort. Dr. Rahbar has done a great job of listening to me, providing a comprehensive plan, and has a wealth of knowledge and is able to explain his plan and methodology in detail. He has great bedside manners and has an exceptional wealth of knowledge ranging not just strictly in the GI areas, but as well as expertise in the other organs and systems of the body. He has also helped to answer my calls numerous times when I had urgent health inquiries, even during off-business hours, without any complaint. Without him, I would be completely lost and hopeless with my condition. Though my treatment has not been quick and easy, he has helped to provide a clear plan forward to getting me back to health. Others have mentioned that he does not come cheap, but he is worth the price of knowing your health is in great hands.

It is rare to find a physician who combines world-class expertise with genuine, focused compassion, but Dr. Rahbar is exactly that. From the first appointment, it was clear that he wasn’t interested in just a quick fix; he was interested in my long-term health. He is an incredible listener who takes the time to connect the dots that other doctors often miss. I never felt rushed or like 'just another patient.' If you are looking for a doctor who is as brilliant as he is kind, I cannot recommend him highly enough. He has truly been amazing for my health and peace of mind."He is the best of the best

Dr. Rahbar is a very intelligent doctor I’ve met. I’ve Met so many doctors all over but no one was able to diagnose my son’s issue. Dr. Rahbar is the only one who listened to his whole history and right away told me what he felt was going on and ordered tests. He was so right and with in a few weeks my son was able to eat without using the feeding tube. I am forever greatful to Dr. Rahbar for all that he has done for my son. I have and always will recommend Dr. Dr. Rahbar to everyone.

Dr. Rahbar is truly the gold standard. He has a wealth of knowledge, and is able to articulate his knowledge so even I understand what's going on. I'm incredibly grateful to have found him and his team!

Dr. Rahbar is hands down the most thorough physician I've ever seen. As someone living with ulcerative proctitis, I came in with a long list of questions, and he took the time to actually answer every single one. No rushing, no brushing things off. He treats you like a whole person, not a chart. His integrative approach has made a real difference in how I understand and manage my condition. If you're dealing with a complex GI issue and feel like you've been bounced around or unheard, I can't recommend him enough.

I have been suffering for almost SIX YEARS of a HORRIBLE GI condition thanks to the MOST severe emotional abuse brought upon by my twisted sister and her domestically violent abusive husband when I was at my most vulnerable after losing the most important person in my life---after 44 years of PERFECT health I was crying non-stop and turned into a human guinea pig by a psychiatrist for 13 months trying to calm down (I'm autistic, I have Asperger's syndrome)---after this HORRIBLE breakdown, it caused my entire GI system to go haywire when it was PERFECT before---I had been to 8-10 different GIs with every single one gaslighting, deflecting, patronizing, and blatantly refusing to take me seriously when I was in SO much misery beyond belief...they kept running tests, saying "everything is normal, it's all in your head"---I brought articles for them to look at, tried to do research myself, and they wouldn't even look at the articles, saying "you are not a doctor" and "I suffer from Google syndrome"---EVERY SINGLE GI was the same---I have been BEYOND miserable for YEARS---I've even contemplated whether I should just kill myself since I have been in SO much misery and NO doctor will take me seriously---and when I told one GI that I wanted to kill myself when he was patronizing me to the fullest, he encouraged me saying "do what you need to do." In desperation, seeing Dr. Rahbar's reviews, I came to see him, even though I knew I would be paying out of pocket. He spent TWO HOURS in the initial session getting to know me, and when I told him everything I was going through, he knew EXACTLY what I was suffering from...he knew what ADVANCED tests to order that no other doctor had ordered (regular doctors only do the standard tests)---first he ordered blood work of over 25 vials---(they ran out of blood in one arm, and they had to use the other arm to complete the order, lol). Then he ordered other types of stool and urine tests--- which normally get results in 24-48 hours with regular doctors---but Dr. Rahbar got a special lab to analyze for 50-60 different things that it took THREE WEEKS to get results----and sure enough, it was what he expected...a EXTREMELY bad type of gut fungus called "Candida Glabrata". FINALLY---a HUGE burden lifted! From doctors patronizing and gaslighting and not knowing ANYTHING about what they are doing, downplaying my suffering and misery---A PROPER DIAGNOSIS!! I guess the saying is right---"You get what you pay for." lol After FIVE YEARS of NON STOP misery, in less than a month and a half, Dr. Rahbar was FINALLY able to give me a proper diagnosis when EVERY OTHER DOCTOR kept telling me "there is nothing wrong with you, everything looks normal, it's all in your head", and said in decades he has NEVER seen such advanced and high levels of what I am suffering from...it is REALLY bad. And it is going to take a LONG time towards trying to get it under control... But it's a miracle! I got a proper diagnosis at last---now knowing that I am NOT crazy, that there IS something wrong with me, that there IS a doctor that can ACTUALLY act like a doctor. I have still got a LONG way to go---and Dr. Rahbar DID in fact warn me this is going to be a LONG process, as this is something he has NEVER quite seen before. I am hoping he can help me get back to what I was before this nightmare began---so far with all the 10-12 supplements I am taking, not ONE BIT of change---still VERY miserable... But the thing is, Dr. Rahbar ASSURED me that he is gonna do EVERYTHING he can to try to eradicate this, anything he can possibly think of, telling me "I will NEVER give up on you"---now THAT is what I have been wanting for 5 1/2 years from a doctor---instead NOT EVEN ONE showed ANY interest in finding out why I was in so much misery and patronized me to the fullest. For the first time in 6 years, I actually feel I'm in good hands with a doctor who really knows what he's doing, who truly cares for his patients, and really is showing real concern for what has happened to me and wants me to get better.
