I turned 50 and was finally honest with myself…I was uncomfortable in my body. I felt bloated, lethargic, unable to get a good night’s sleep, and unable to ever find a comfortable position. My clothes didn’t fit and my kids started to express concern….So, I did what I was contemplating for years, I reached out to Karen for help and to get me healthy. Even before the detox was over I felt better. The bloat was gone. I started to sleep through the night - no more tossing and turning. I had energy - the afternoon slump was gone. I began exercising regularly - 1-1.5 hrs. 5 days/wk on the Peloton and walking the dog (about 2 miles). And I changed how and what I eat. I’ve cut out sugar (added sugar) and gluten from my diet, instead eating a lot of protein (chicken, fish, Greek yogurt, cheese), starting each morning with a protein fruit smoothie. It’s not always easy. Going out to dinner is hard - a lot of hidden sugar on the menu. There are days I don’t want to exercise; I crave sweets; eat too much. But Karen is there to get me back on track; talk me through it; cheer me on; or give it to me straight. What’s interesting is that when I started, I was accountable to Karen. I’m starting to be accountable to myself and my body. If I eat sugar or gluten, I “feel” it. I’ve gotten good at ordering “clean” foods off a restaurant menu - no salad dressing, instead vinegar. At home, I’m enjoying foods that taste great - air fried cauliflower crusted chicken instead of schnitzel; quesadillas with almond flour or cassava tortillas; spaghetti squash instead of pasta; rice cakes with almond butter and fruit spread; a crisp apple. 8 months in…what a difference. I’ve lost 37 lbs (much of which pure body fat), gained lean muscle, dropped 2+ pant sizes and am now buying size large clothes rather than XL. I no longer pull on my shirts to hide my belly. I am starting to once again feel comfortable in my own skin. I’ll even wear swim trunks and lay out around the pool (before I was self conscious). Throughout the journey Karen has been my biggest cheerleader and when I need it gives me a swift kick in the rear. We meet every week. We talk life; we don’t just discuss the numbers or what I ate, but also “why” and my relationship to food vis-a-vis taste, cravings, energy, mood, stress. I look forward to my weekly sessions. I’m excited to jump on the scale and talk about the week. What a wonderful unexpectedly positive journey! It’s really nice to feel good. Thank you, Karen!

When Karen and I met, she immediately put me on a 30-day detox. I had other problems besides needing to lose weight: Acid reflux, lower energy levels, and poor sleep patterns. After making the recommended changes, I lost weight and gained muscle. In addition, my acid reflux disappeared, I have great energy now, and pretty much sleep through the night. I am grateful for Karen's assistance and will continue to use the tools she provided as I continue my health journey. In addition, Karen will provide you with much needed accountability and is willing to discuss whatever obstacles that may be hindering you from reaching your health goals.

Karen gave me accountability. She is someone I can trust in having my back to help me continue the long road ahead of me with my health issues and how food can help. And it doesn't hurt that she is extremely nice to work with without any judgment.

HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the Learn 2 Eat Right program. Having gained weight through menopause and listening to my doctor constantly reminding me to lose weight, but not providing the tools to do so, I decided to find a nutritionist rather than trying "diets" on my own. Karen Cohen's Learn 2 Eat Right program worked perfectly for me... an "eating plan" (not a diet) tailored to me; one on one sessions every two weeks where we discussed successes, goals, and areas for improvement. Starting November 30, 2021, each session reflected a 2-3 pound loss... even over the holidays! Now 6-1/2 months in, I've almost reached my goal weight (a loss of about 22 pounds), but even better -- I know that I'm living a healthy lifestyle through better eating and exercise. Well worth the cost... JUST DO IT!!! YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!

I started talking to Karen 4 1/2 months ago when I had been in pain (in my chest area) for almost 2 years and doctors could not diagnose my problem. I was also extremely agitated from being in that pain so long... She highly recommended that I try to clear the inflammation out of my body... So she recommended an anti-inflammatory diet for me... She gave me a list of foods to stay away from, and foods that are noninflammatory And I have religiously stuck to this regiment for almost 5 months... I now feel SO MUCH BETTER... I have lost 24lbs (A true added bonus). My emotions are much better . Less irritable... My energy level is so great now... I just cannot thank Karen enough for this help.. And I would recommend anyone who wants to feel better physically, lose weight, or learn to eat right to Karen. She is , in my opinion, an angel on this earth! Denny Pezzin

The best thing I could have done for myself was go to Karen. She is really knowledgable, relatable, and considerate of your goals. Now that I know what I know, I can't go back. I started going to Karen after some food sensitivity issues were affecting my quality of living severely. What a blessing I went to her when I did. My body was inflamed, effecting my sleep, digestion, mood, ability to exercise and be mobile. Karen put me on a strict detox. I was nervous at first because, well, I love my sugar, but that was the first thing to go. Karen's plan was easy to follow and she gave me the encouragement and support necessary to tackle such a drastic change. After the first week of the plan my body was making drastic changes that felt good. It wasn't until the 3rd week that I realized I could feel great. I was less bloated, was loosing weight; which is not an issue for me but I realized that I was loosing bloat and inflammation. My mood returned, my cravings for sugar and junk food was down, I wasn't nearly as tired. So when my second session came around I was all in on making serious long term changes to the way I eat. I feel great. Run do not walk to make an appointment with Karen.

Karen Cohen is the finest change agent I know! As my personal nutritionist and lifestyle coach, Karen has assisted me on my journey to better health and happiness. I have learned that permanent weight loss has to be slow. In addition, my new food plan includes a variety of foods to select from. If you are thinking about starting your weight loss journey, Karen Cohen is the nutritionist to see.!!!

Update: I just celebrated by 1 year anniversary working with Karen. I have lost 40 pounds and am healthier, stronger, and more energetic than I have ever been. I feel so fortunate that I found Karen, who has been kind, patient, and motivating. She really listens to my needs, struggles, and triggers, and was able to individualize a program that just works. Karen makes it about more than food--it is about being healthy and realizing how the other parts of your life impact the food choices you make. I am so grateful for this truly life changing experience. I feel so fortunate to have found Karen! I came to her feeling tired and frustrated about my eating choices. I felt like Karen "got" me right away and was able to personalize an eating plan focused on making healthier choices. Karen recognizes that changing your eating habits and overall relationship with food is a process. Karen provides the necessary care and support to make this positive change possible. I truly look forward to our meetings and for the first time in my life feel like a healthy lifestyle is possible! Thank you Karen!!
