I had heard really good things about this clinic and i really wanted my wife to see them for my persistent stomach issues she has had for a few years. She wasnt getting help from a doctor she had been seeing already so i thought they could help with her condition but they refused to take her as a patient without even meeting with her.

The actual procedure was fine. Communications was another matter. I was instructed to call using an option on their directory tree. None of the options matched my needs and I had to leave a call back number, twice. When they finally called, it was to my cell not my home number and I missed the call. The nurse couldn't answer my question and referred my to my primary care physician. She did remind me to come in an hour early! I waited days for a call from the hospital GI lab regarding med and medical history. It never came. I checked in electronically through both and hospital and Gateway, but still had to wait to check. The fact there happened to be two of us with the same last name through them into a tizzy. I ended up discussing my meds and history while another nurse started an IV. It would be a poor time to discover complications with meds or history minutes before the procedure. My memory of dates is not as accurate as had they called when I was at my desk. I was never called with the pathology report, but did find it posted on my patient portal. I had to use Google to understand the results when a simple call would have been appreciated. This was nothing like my experience with Gateway for 5 years ago.

Be careful who you decide to seek care from here. During my initial appointment, I felt heard by Dr. Ancha. She answered my questions and assured me that my concern for a certain medication was rare. However, I ended up having the exact reaction that I was nervous of. Then I was told to go untreated for two weeks until my scope. I advocated for myself in regards to being unmedicated while symptomatic. I then had questions regarding a biologic medication and I was told that the medication I would like to pursue is not for my disease, when a quick search of the medication shows that it is. I had other questions regarding my disease process and correlating symptoms, that again some research can show are related, specifically mast cell activation and inflammation or autoimmune inflammation. I was told that she is unaware of any correlation and to seek another specialist. So you're unaware of the inflammation cascade for a disease you're treating. Then three weeks following a scope, I had yet to hear back about my biopsy results. I reached out and spoke with support staff. I still had questions regarding the level of inflammation and the treatment recommended. When Dr. Ancha returned my call, I was spoken over, told different information than the nurse had told me a week prior, and given anatomically incorrect information. We are people. This is not Jiffy Lube "in, up, fixed, out." Yes your busy and I understand this; however, rushing over people and not properly explaining medical diagnoses is unacceptable. I am a person and I'm going to have questions about my diagnosis and treatment. Making someone feel like a burden for questions is medical malpractice in my opinion. Did you really go to school to treat people like a car in line for an oil change or did you go to actually make a difference. If you want to make a difference, start with your patient manners.

Their offshore schedulers/receptionists are incredibly difficult to deal with and take days to get back to you. I ended up scheduling with another doctor whose front desk staff was wonderful and immediately available and responsive. Please reconsider your off-shore staff - it ruins the patient experience.

Preregistration was great, procedure was great. They are in the process of moving to a new building, I went to the new location because the address was on my paperwork and was told to go to other location. Both locations said someone must have told me, maybe they did, but I followed the written instructions.
