Dr. Darshan Anandu - GI Specialists Of Houston LLP

Dr. Gives a good attention, the issue is with the staff they are very unprofessional I make a lot call but they never answer so I decide to go to the office when I asked why they never answer my calls they said because they are to busy then I asked for a number where I can complain they told me they don't have one. I will asked my PCP to assign me to another doctor.

I was supposed to have an appointment for 3/30/26. I call to day to verify it. The staff is so unprofessional, unorganized, uneducated, I spent all day on the phone and haven’t accomplished anything. This is to informed Ambetter to investigate and see what the problem is and try to fix it. I will not refer no one to this place. They need to shut it down and never hire none of the people who work there. I found me a new G I Doctor I am very please with if anybody need a referral I will send you one. Please don’t reply to my review if you from this Dr. Offices. They all need more training skills on how to assist the patients clients and etc.i didn’t want to leave a star. Grade 0

Dr Anandu is an extremely good doctor with exceptional clinical experience and he takes the time to explain everything with patients so their experience can be the best posible. Highly recommended. He has great patient care and treats patients with empathy and humanity

Dr Anandu has been my doctor since 2019 . He has always listened to me , and taken care of me as as possible . I never have to wait , he gets straight to the point either that be a colonoscopy or blood work . He has great energy , personality , and better yet a Houston fan! I will continue to have him as my doctor , also his staff Mayra is very nice and welcoming !

I have early stages of gastroparesis and got prescibed Omeprazole which has done pretty much nothing for it, I still get flare ups that are painful and days where I can't eat. The doctor is nice, the staff is iffy but the training students are mean girls/boys who peaked in high school. Talking trash about how someone looks for 0 reason. Don't assume people don't understand different languages just because of their skin color. Also when I was waiting to be checked out, they put another patient in the room I was in without any cleaning or sanitizing. There have been 2 occasions that I had an appointment scheduled but was canceled last minute because the doctor wasn't going to be there. I rather take my copay and go elsewhere with some actual help and professionalism.

Excellent doctor, very professional and dedicated in his medical practice. During my experience with him, I was able to see his commitment to patient care and to creating a positive learning environment. He shares valuable knowledge and carries himself with confidence and professionalism. Highly recommended.

I had a very disappointing experience with this doctor. It took until my third scheduled appointment to actually see him, as the first two appointments were canceled due to emergencies. While I understand that emergencies can arise, the repeated cancellations were extremely inconvenient and disruptive. When I finally had my appointment, the doctor literally came in and out of the room during my visit, which made me feel rushed and unheard. My procedure was also rescheduled twice. The first time, I was informed that the facility was out of network, which should have been clarified beforehand. The scheduler had even advised that the facility might be out of network, yet the doctor still insisted that I be scheduled at the East Houston location. The second time, it was canceled again due to another emergency. Additionally, I felt uncomfortable with the way the doctor treated his staff. The behavior I observed appeared unprofessional and inappropriate, which further added to my concerns about the overall experience.

Dr. Anandu is an excellent gastroenterologist with great experience and a genuine commitment to his patients. I had the opportunity to learn from him, and he always motivated me to become a better student and future doctor. His passion for medicine and dedication to staying constantly updated in order to provide the best treatments are truly admirable. He is a great example of professionalism, empathy, and vocation. I highly recommend him.

As with almost all of the poor reviews, the failure in service to the patient is the lack of efficiency, competency, and poor communication of Dr. Anandu’s support staff. The receptionist, and office manager both sorely lack communication skills, and office management skills. At this moment I am in the waiting area waiting 1 and 1/2 hours and counting. The receptionist and office manager offered no reasonable explanation for this wait. She said “we tell our patients there could be a wait.” However this was not communicated to me. There seems to be no order that patients are seen in. People with appointments after me (I looked at the sign in sheet) are all being called in before me. I’m just sitting here writing this review. I was called to pay my co pay about an hour after my appointment, but still as of this moment I am waiting to be seen. I realize treating and consulting with patients takes time, and unexpected things happen, but it is the responsibility of the administrative staff of any practice to efficiently manage via communication, and proper organizational planning and management. This office seems to be completely devoid of these critical skills. The least they could do is be proactive in communicating delays, rather than responding to inquiries with a complete lack of empathy and recognition for the patients personal time, which is just as valuable as anyone else’s. I guess the saying”good help is hard to find” rings true indeed, when it comes to this medical practice. Update: I was seen by Dr. Anandu at 1:45 past my scheduled appointment time. I will say he is an excellent, and experienced doctor, however, a medical practice is only as good as its support staff. He needs to upgrade to a better, more competent staff. In particular, the receptionist and office manager need to either undergo some much needed retraining, or to be entirely relieved of their positions. I understand they may have a difficult job with many challenges, but medicine and medical support are critical fields with no room for error. Rant over.
