I was referred to Dr Velinov by my pediatrician to do some genetic testing on my baby son. First, it took over a month to get an appointment. I called and they said THEY had to call me back to set the appointment. And it would take two weeks to call me back. Seems very odd. Two weeks went by and I didn't hear anything. I called again, they told me the same thing. I called again later that day and was hung up on. I later left a very angry message for them, in which then I received a call and was granted an appointment. The doctor seemed pleasant and knowledgeable. My complaint is with setting up the appointment, and the nursing staff First they said that two doctors in training would be sitting in on my appointment. They did not bother to ask me if this was ok. Then one of the nurses was prying into my family life, which of course is expected. But she wanted to know why a particular family member prematurely passed away. This had nothing to do with the genetics of my son. It was very rude and I left a very detailed disgusted review for them. Of course they reached out to me again to see what happened. I was more than agitated by the unprofessionalism of that particular nurse. I CANNOT recommend this doctor's office, though the doctor was pleasant.

Dr. Spinner and Anna Ku , NP are truly the dream team when it comes to patient care. Dr. Spinner was so incredibly thorough and kind during both visits with my daughter. You can tell she really cares and takes the time to make sure every question and concern is addressed. Anna Ku is also an absolute rockstar! She noticed that my daughter's genetic lab tests were done incorrectly which couldve been a nightmare to dispute. But she handled everything for me so seamlessly going above and beyond to work with the lab getting the charges reversed. Talk about dedication! Both Dr. Spinner and Anna Ku made us feel cared for and supported. We are truly thankful!

By far the worst experience we’ve ever had with a medical personnel, with Dr. Amisha Malhotra, an infectious disease specialist, who saw my son post Lyme’s disease diagnosis in September this year. She completely disregarded all of his current complaints, talked down on my concerns and was visibly annoyed by any questions. The wait was over an hour, but that wasn’t an issue at all, the front desk staff and nurses were very kind, but Dr. Maholtra made us feel as if we were there just to provide her with information for statistics purposes and then get kicked out. I had to advocate and ask for another Lyme’s disease test, after which I had to pursue her to call me to get information about it, a week after she had received the results, and a month after our initial visit, and at the time, my son still had occasional joint pain and GI symptoms, which I shared about, but she stated that those were not “typical Lyme’s disease symptoms” and it was probably unrelated and that he should be seen by someone else. I felt as if regardless of what I said she wasn’t going to pursue treatment or testing. Her last words were “I hope he does better”. A week later we went to see another specialist, for a second opinion, Dr. Sejal Bhavsar. It was by far the best experience we’ve had, at Hackensack Meridian. We didn’t have to wait, the doctor was fast, but explaining, understanding, and order more tests, with which we discovered that his symptoms had to do with an ongoing untreated infection. Poor job, very poor job.
