Dr. Maruggi has been a valuable addition and resource the panel of specialists troubleshooting my body for the root cause of my ailments. She has a very easy-going demeanor and is knowledgeable. She took into account where I’ve travelled in the world to proactively test for gut imbalances and issues. She’s also very prompt at placing orders or prescriptions. She erred on the side of caution and had me do a barium swallow test prior to the endoscopy. She listens to my concerns regarding my sensitives to certain medications and does her best to find alternatives solutions. She recommends food over pharmaceuticals whenever possible (example kiwis, psyllium husk, electrolytes, coconut water, etc). Dr. Maruggi is also very sincere in wanting to support her patients. She had prescribed a medication protocol for a gut issue we found and when I became overwhelmed by how to work it around the other medical things I was getting done, she and her nurse took the time to sort it out for me. Then, when my primary doctor recommended I reach out to my specialists for letters in support of the letter he wrote for my disability, without hesitation, she was the first. My primary doctor had noted that not all specialists would be willing to “got to that extent” and do something like that but she literally completed our request by the next morning. I'm still working with Dr. Maruggi and recommend her to anyone who needs to speak with a GI doc. Your gut will thank you 😊
