Dr. Shapiro is nothing short of absolutely amazing, he is one of the best doctors around, a stellar GI!! He is exceptionally kind, and extremely bright, an absolute pleasure to see and always a pleasure to discuss medical issues and/or life in general with. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Shapiro for many years, and it’s worth the hour long drive out, I wouldn’t see anyone else for GI issues. He is exceptionally thorough as well, and makes an effort to know a patient as a whole, which is so important. The appointment is never rushed (rare these days) and he is an amazing listener with a big heart. He took care of my mother for years, and I greatly appreciated his care and concern, and I know my mother did as well. If you are looking for a beyond amazing gastroenterologist who is knowledgeable, extremely bright, and has an amazingly light touch with his hands—in addition to being a wonderfully kind human being—Dr. Shapiro is the physician to see—it’s an honor to be his patient!! Thank you so much Dr. Shapiro!!!

His assistant is a very caring man too. They both work well with each other. I recommend this doctor and his assistant with 10 stars if there was one.

Dr. Shapiro is one of the finest physicians in the entire Chicagoland area. He takes the time to first listen, ask questions, and then thoroughly explain the care plan. You never feel rushed and his appointments and scheduled procedures are on time with a great supporting staff. Dr. Shapiro provides personal follow up to all tests and procedures. An outstanding physician that shows genuine care and concern for all of his patients.
