I cannot say it enough how amazing Dr A was today at my colonoscopy. I was absolutely terrified of what my results were going to be and before my procedure began he came and assured me that the procedure was going to be fine and that he felt reassured by previous tests I had that all would be fine . So happy to say all normal results and I can’t thank him enough for his kindness professionalism and wonderful care and concern he showed me

My MGH internist referred me for a routine colonoscopy to MGH Gastroenterology. Dr. Ananthakrishnan spent no more than 2 minutes discussing risks and potential sequelae of the procedure before asking me to sign the consent form. Once I was brought into the procedure room he sat with his back toward me while the nurse's prepped and sedated me. When I awoke he had gone without telling me anything about his findings or how I would learn of the results. All of this was related to me second hand by the nurse who attended me during the procedure. I am an MD and spent 15 years in academic medicine treating patients in much the same settings in NYC. I would never have treated a patient the way Dr. Ranthakrishnan treated me today and I would not have tolerated any physician on my staff treating patients this way. I have absolutely no confidence in how well or thorough this procedure today was conducted. If you are referred to MGH Gastroenterology you would be well advised to steer clear of this physician.

Beyond frustrated with this my efforts trying to schedule an appointment. His office has scheduled and canceled my appointment THREE TIMES over the past seven months. I've now been trying to get in there since January and they just called me today to cancel once again, each time with an excuse about a scheduling change or mix-up. I've never experienced anything like this with any other doctor's office in my life.

He is the best. So caring, available and always correct. Two of our kids have gone to Dr Ananthakrishnan for years. My husband also. Such a good thing to have a gastroenterologist we trust.
