My wife saw Annette for a complicated SIBO case. She initially started treatment, but when the medications didn’t work and we reached out for next steps, Annette told us she wasn’t sure what to do and didn’t offer any guidance or referral to someone who could help For a condition as nuanced as SIBO, especially methane-dominant cases, we expected clearer direction or at least a referral to a specialist when the first approach failed. Patients shouldn’t feel dismissed or left without a path forward. If you have a more complex case, you may want to see a clinician with deeper experience in SIBO or functional GI issues.

One of the doctors I most admire. She is kind and warm in her care and evaluation. She is clear and thoughtful in her communication. Her expert knowledge has helped me and several of my loved ones over the years. Grateful to her on so many levels.

Dr. Kwon has been our family's gastroenterologist for over 28 years. My husband, sister, and I know her to be a knowledgeable and emphathetic doctor with an outstanding bedside manner. We give her the highest recommendation as she is wonderful.

Dr. Kwon is extremely kind, knowledgeable, and has fantastic bedside manner. I went in for a consult and she listened to me intently and gave me different options for following up based on her professional expertise. I felt very listened to and taken care of. I did not have any issues booking an appointment with her, although she does book a bit in advance as is usual for good doctors in San Francisco.

I initially felt very optimistic after my first consultation with Dr. Kwon. She came across as friendly and attentive, and I left the appointment feeling like I was finally on the path to getting answers. Unfortunately, my experience after that was very different. Once the visit was over, it became extremely difficult to reach her through the patient portal. Messages went unanswered for long stretches, and when I did get responses, they felt brief and unhelpful. Over time, I felt like my concerns weren’t being taken seriously and that there wasn’t much interest in helping me move forward with my care. I’m glad others may have had better experiences, but for me, the lack of follow-through and communication made it really hard to feel supported as a patient. See the attached example where I'm left feeling as though there's not much she can do for me, which I did my own research to confirm is not at all the case. There are plenty of follow-up medications and therapy I could try.
