Apparently they have a buddy or colleague system. I’ve been having stomach problems that were uneresolved or by doctor Cummings. My primary care doctor switched me to another doctor. Doctor Shpaner would not see me because it is a curtesy to his friend. So now I’m at supposed to live in pain.

They schedule telemed for my first appointment. They emailed me a patient packet. I didn't notice my email. No phone call telling me they were going to email me a packet. The day before the appointment they text message me saying that if I didn't fill out that packet the appointment would have to be canceled. I don't have a printer nor do I look at my emails every day. I get 50 emails a day at least. They could have called me or text message me to tell me they were sending a packet. I have a serious chronic disorder. I choked. Obviously they're not going to work with people nor do they care about getting new patients

Dr. Shpaner and his staff are wonderful! They made my colonoscopy and endoscopy as comfortable as possible, and the aftercare was excellent. Highly recommend!

DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR. What a scam this joke of a doctor charged me $185 for a 3 minute zoom call. They are so irresponsible they have no availability until months out and they cancel on me a day before. They expect me to pay $600 out of pocket for a checkup. You’re better off not going here…

The staff was friendly and efficient. Wait times were low. Dr. Shpaner was easy to talk to, listened to my questions and concerns. He impressed me as being a very good doctor.

I had a colonoscopy and thought Dr Shpaner was great. I did not think the same of the office staff so I can't give 5 stars. They're off on Thursday and after several days of calling I went in on a Thursday and they did not answer. I left a message on Thursday and Wednesday. No one called me back the prior Wednesday or on Friday. I needed to know to see if this would be considered preventative or not so they were to call to get a preauth. When I brought up how horrible it was to the front desk female she offered no apology, just that she couldn't keep up with the days of the week. The front desk person did not tell me to read the handout in order to know that I had to write down a contact that would stay with me or check on me the day of the procedure. This was not necessary at Sharp the last time but at Grossmont Surgical center it is. I almost had to cancel and would've had to prep a 2nd time with the restrictive diet. No attention is given by the Dr's office to making sure you have enough calories to not faint by 2pm when eating a liquid diet. Thank goodness the nurse at Grossmont Surgical center helped to be sure I got apple juice and jello to last at work. The nurse there should be asking if you have someone to check on you.

Wonderful Dr. and great staff!!! My concerns were addressed right away. I highly recommend this place.

I just had an endoscopy and colonoscopy with him on Friday, and I'm extremely impressed. He was such a pleasant doctor with a great bedside manner, which made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process, and you can tell he cares about his patients. I can say the same about his office manager; she was very helpful.

Fantastic doctor! Knowledgeable, patient and caring. Office staff, especially Cristie, is wonderful to deal with. Warm, caring vibe in that office!
